Professional experience
As a Professor, his research and education concerns: conservation biology and environmental biology. More specific his research is about:
- Conservation Biology: How can we contribute to ecological recovery and transition to sustainable land use? Here the focus is on biodiversity and agriculture. Apart from ecological aspects, also socio-economic aspects are investigated.
- Environmental Biology: How can we reduce the impact of contaminants on biodiversity and ecosystems? More specifically, the focus is on the effects of pesticides on biodiversity and environmental quality.
He has been the supervisor of about 40 Ph.D. Candidates.
