Academic Calendar 2023-2024
- Mid- July: Course registration
The Course Administration team will inform you of the course registration process via email. All first year students will start the first block of the academic year with mandatory first year courses. An elective course needs to be selected for block 2.
- 16 and 17 August: Move in days: before the LUC Introduction week
It will be possible to move into your studio apartment on one of these Moving days. Please note that you will not be able to move in anytime beforehand nor can select a day yourself. Starting in June, all new LUC students will receive more information regarding their studio apartment and their Moving day. Read Moving Days 2023 for further details.
- 18 August: Orientation Day
This is the first day after the Move in days where you can meet your fellow classmates and key figures at LUC.
- 21-25 August: LUC Introduction Week
LUC The Hague organises an Introduction Week exclusively for new LUC students. This will take place from Monday 21 until Friday 25 August 2023. All first year LUC students are expected to participate. There is no need to register for LUC’s Introduction Week, as that is done automatically when an offer is accepted. More information regarding what this week entails will be communicated to admitted students over the summer.
- 28 August: Start of LUC classes
On Monday 28 August classes at LUC start. Please note that attendance is mandatory and all first year LUC students have their first class on this day.

Official registration for the programme
- Diploma and transcripts
In order to start your studies at LUC The Hague you need to be unconditionally admitted to the programme. To receive your unconditional admission statement you need to provide the Admissions Office with the required documents stated in your Online Application Portal. You can view the requirements under Admission Decision if you have been admitted to LUC.
- English proficiency
All students must meet the English proficiency requirement before the end of July. If you require a visa and/or residence permit to study in the Netherlands you need to meet the English proficiency requirement before 1 June.
- Mathematics proficiency
All students must meet the Mathematics proficiency requirement before the end of July. If you require a visa and/or residence permit to study in the Netherlands you need to meet the Mathematics proficiency requirement before 1 June. If you cannot or do not meet the mathematics requirement you are required to take the LUC mathematics diagnostic exam in the beginning of the academic year 2023-2024.
- Tuition fee payment
Conditionally admitted students can authorise the payment of the tuition fee from June onwards through Studielink. Students requiring a visa and/or residence permit to study in the Netherlands will receive an invoice for the payment of the tuition fee in July.
