Graduate School of Social and Behavioural Sciences
The Graduate School of Social and Behavioural Sciences has the responsibility for all master's, research master's and PhD programmes in the field of social and behavioural sciences. The School's themes are anthropology, education and child studies, political science and psychology.
The Graduate School consist of 4 institutes plus the Centre for Science and Technology Studies, each with its own Academic Director. Senior and junior members of the academic staff have their appointment with one of these. The institutes plus centre are directly responsibile for the research projects carried out by members of their staff. The institutes plus centre make sure that their staff members are available for the teaching of courses in the various (bachelor and) graduate programmes in the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences.
The direct care and responsibility for of each the various master's and research master's programmes has been assigned to institute's boards, which are usually headed by a full professor, while the programmes operate under the supervision of the Faculty Board. For each programme, a board of examinors, a teaching and an admissions committee have been appointed. The academic directors of the institutes take care of, and are responsible for, the PhD programme in the field of their institute or centre.
