The NIMAR library receives visiting students and affiliated researchers who are looking for a quiet place to study and work. Besides this, the library provides them with support in finding relevant literature for their research.

The study and research area in the library offers 20 workspaces, WIFI and access to the online resources of Leiden University Libraries. Furthermore, visiting students and affiliated researchers will find a specialised physical collection on Morocco and the region that consists of thousands of monographs, edited volumes, reference works and magazines at their disposal.

Access to the physical collection of the NIMAR library catalogue is available via the Leiden University Libraries Catalogue. Select the NIMAR Library section to the right of the search pane by indicating Leiden Collections, and location NIMAR Library.

NIMAR and Leiden University Libraries

As a center of expertise on Morocco and the wider region, the NIMAR library is also actively involved in selecting and acquiring scientific and non-scientific literature published in North-West Africa for Leiden University Libraries. Ever since 2015, its aim has been to cover and document all disciplines in the social sciences and the humanities as they relate to North-West Africa, with a particular focus on Morocco. In the past ten years, more than ten thousand publications have been acquired in the region and made available for education and research at Leiden University.
