Supervising a PhD candidate comes with different responsibilities at different stages of the PhD trajectory. These sessions provide practical guidance on supporting PhD candidates, from the start of their project to the final phase leading up to the defence.
Supervisor and getting your PhD candidate started - 10 September
The “getting your PHD candidate started” meeting aims to foster a strong start for our new PhD candidates and help them lay the groundwork for a successful research journey. The agenda for the meeting will include the following key points: Overview of the PhD program structure and milestones, Clarification of the roles and responsibilities of supervisors, Guidance on developing a research plan and timeline, Sharing best practices for effective communication and mentorship, and Addressing any queries or concerns from the supervisors.

This meeting aims to give you’re an overview what your tasks as a supervisor are what the timeline looks like so you can guide our PhD candidate to a successful PhD defense. The agenda for the meeting will include the following key points: Overview of the PhD program structure and milestones. (PhD timetable & converis), Clarification of the roles and responsibilities of supervisors, Cumlaude: when and why, Ius promovendi, Checklist Committee’s & PhD regulations, and Lay Talk.
