"As for the social aspect, I am a member of the study association's education committee and help organise lectures of visiting professors and other guest speakers. That is a great way to meet people and to expand my network."

"I have a close group of friends within the programme. I am also active in the study association Symposion, where I am part of the education committee. We organise a monthly night where students can present their ideas and discuss them. In my first year, I took part in organising a short film festival in Leiden and I am a member of the Debate Union. Being part of these associations, there was always something fun to do. Because philosophy students have many interests and come from a variety of backgrounds, they join a lot of different societies."

"I’m a member of the study association and we organised some activities for other members: lectures, discussions but also a pub quiz and an escape room. It’s fun to meet other students and a very nice environment to be in. I like Leiden as a student city as well. I started living with three classmates last month, we live only 15 minutes from university. Students are an important part of Leiden: they’re everywhere. I really like that vibe."
