Institute Board and Management Team

The Institute Board is responsible for the overall management of the institute, as well as the administration and organization of the institute’s teaching and research activities. Research and education are managed collaboratively, with strategic input from various representatives and groups, including the Management Team, which represents all clusters, the WERA (scientific council), and the Institute Council.

The Institute Board is responsible for the overall management of the institute, as well as the administration and organization of the institute’s teaching and research activities.

•   The scientific director is responsible for General Management, Research Strategy, Research Data Management and Knowledge Safety. Prof. Dr. Hubertus Irth is the Scientific Director.
•   The Director of Education is Prof. Dr. Dennis Claessen. He is responsible for Education Strategy and Student Wellbeing.
•   The Director of Operations is Dr. Maribel Adame Valero and she is responsible for Human Resources, Finance & Research Support, Safety, Housing and Labs.

The Management team is composed of the institute board and the cluster chairs, the program director, and a representative of early career researchers.
