Hundreds of Stone Tombs Discovered in Land of 'Dead Fire'

The faculty has been investigating hundreds of ancient stone tombs in Jordan’s Black Desert.

The excavations and surveys point towards complex and entangled arrangements of cairn use and mortuary practices over time, with reuse of the tombs as a recurrent feature. The research has been recently been covered by Live Science.
