Suzanne Mol werkt als universitair docent bij het Instituut Pedagogische Wetenschappen van de Universiteit Leiden. In haar huidige onderzoeksprojecten bouwt ze voort op haar promotie-onderzoek naar vrijetijdslezen en zet zij zich in voor onderwijs-onderzoek naar inclusiviteit en diversiteit. Ze is lid van de Faculteitsraad FSW, Examencommissie en Leiden Teachers' Academy. Suzanne verzorgt onderwijs in de masterspecialisatie Kinderen met Leer- en Gedragsproblemen in het Onderwijs en in het bachelorprogramma van Pedagogische Wetenschappen.

Op een inclusieve manier denken en werken is een belangrijk speerpunt in het onderzoek en onderwijs van Suzanne Mol. Hoe kunnen we ervoor zorgen dat álle leerlingen en studenten optimaal presteren en functioneren in het onderwijs? Daarbij vindt zij het belangrijk om de effecten van onderwijsverbeteringen/interventies te meten, bijvoorbeeld met Continue Voortgangsmonitoring (CVM). Dit past zij ook toe in haar onderzoekslijn rond lezen. Het belang van motivatie voor leerlingen/studenten met en zonder leesproblemen heeft haar specifieke interesse.
Suzanne is o.a. docent in het bachelor- en masterprogramma en coördinator van de masterspecialisatie 'Kinderen met Leer- en Gedragsproblemen in het Onderwijs', fellow van de Leiden Teachers’ Academy en lid van het KNAW Comeniusnetwerk (i.h.b. tracé Inclusie).
