Dr. Kristof Gombeer is universitair docent aan het Europa Instituut van de Leidse rechtenfaculteit. Hij houdt zich bezig met de mensenrechten alsook het raakvlak tussen het Europees recht en het internationaal publiekrecht. Hij doceert in de bachelor- en masteropleidingen.

Gombeer: ‘Italië blijft grenzen maritieme recht zoeken’
Dr. Kristof Gombeer is universitair docent aan het Europa Instituut van de Faculteit der Rechtsgeleerdheid van de Universiteit Leiden. Hij doet onderzoek op het gebied van de mensenrechten en op het raakvlak tussen het Europees recht en het internationaal publiekrecht. Kristof’s onderzoeksinteresse omvat onder meer de bescherming van de mensenrechten over de staatsgrenzen heen en in de maritieme context in het bijzonder. In die laatste hoedanigheid is hij momenteel lid van het Comité voor de Bescherming van Mensen op Zee van de International Law Association. Kristof coördineert de vakken ‘Inleiding Europees recht’ in de bacheloropleiding Rechtsgeleerdheid en ‘Interaction between Legal Systems: legal reasoning in international, EU and national law’ in de masteropleidingen Europees recht en Internationaal publiekrecht. Daarnaast is hij coördinator van de ‘Ateliers’, een nieuwe kleinschalige onderwijsvorm in de bacheloropleiding Rechtsgeleerdheid die zich richt op de integratie van juridische disciplines en de ontwikkeling van vaardigheden.
