Students holding a bachelor’s degree from a university of applied sciences (HBO-bachelor) in a language-related field are required to complete a pre-master’s programme to be eligible for admission to the MA Translation. This one-year ‘bridging’ programme (40 to 60 EC) is taught in English and Dutch. The Board of Admissions will inform candidates which of the premaster’s courses listed below they are required to take to fulfil the premaster requirement:
- Translation minor: 30EC
- Dutch to English translation
- English to Dutch translation
- Introduction to Translation Studies
- Culture Studies for Translators
- Multilingual to English Translation: 5 EC
- Multilingual to Dutch Translation: 5 EC
- Research project/data collection: 10 EC
- Annotated Translation: 10 EC
The language requirements for a pre-master's programme are identical to the language requirements for the master's programme for which admission has been requested. These requirements must be met before the start of the premaster.
