Ymke de Bruijn is postdoctoraal onderzoeker bij het LUC-Societal Challenges Lab. Haar onderzoek richt zich op interetnische attitudes van ouders en kinderen, en diversiteit in kinderboeken. Ze behaalde in 2022 haar PhD bij het onderzoeksproject ‘Kinderen in de Samenleving’ (KidS). In haar proefschrift ‘Child interethnic prejudice in the Netherlands: Social learning from parents and picture books’ onderzocht zij vooroordelen op basis van etniciteit bij jonge kinderen in de Nederland, en attitudes en ideologieën waaraan zij worden blootgesteld via twee socialisatie bronnen, namelijk ouders en kinderboeken.
