Rik van Gijn is universitair hoofddocent aan het Centre for Linguistics. Ik richt me op de inheemse talen van (west) Zuid Amerika, en met name op de vraag hoe de indrukwekkende taaldiversiteit zich daar heeft ontwikkeld. Mijn onderwijsexpertise omvat Zuid-Amerikaanse talen, typologie, morfologie, taalkundig veldwerk, beschrijvende taalkunde, en taalcontact.
