Jonathan Silk is Hoogleraar Boeddhisme studies aan het Instituut voor Regiostudies. Hij is gespecialiseerd in boeddhisme in de Aziatische context, voornamelijk vanuit historisch oogpunt. Hij heeft een speciale belangstelling voor boeddhistische geschriften.
