This book is the first in a series of publications on Merovingian cemeteries in the southern and central Netherlands. The project's goals are to revive the study of Merovingian cemeteries and mortuary rituals in the Netherlands and to publish a series of cemeteries previously excavated but never published in detail.
This book offers a presentation of evidence from the Merovingian cemetery of Bergeijk-Fazantlaan. The authors analysed the cemetery to a level appropriate to further research. The book ends with an extensive catalogue of excavated contexts and finds.
