LUCAS PhD Council
The PhD Council represents the interests of all LUCAS PhDs: employed, contract, and self-funded. It consists of a fluctuating number of members who form the board and rotate through time.
The LUCAS PhD Council has as its objective to assist LUCAS PhD’s with questions, voice collective interests to the institute, and build an active social PhD Community. Therefore, we regularly organize activities, such as monthly PhD lunches, writing and brainstorming sessions, and PhD symposia. Current PhD Council members are:
- Kyra Alberts, Chair
- Corine Gerritsen
- Chiara Ravinetto
- Lucas Gahrmann
- Manon Portos Minetti
- Róisín Lambert
The Council meets with members of the LUCAS Management Team a couple of times per year, to discuss matters concerning the admission, training, and supervision of PhDs in the Institute. The council also invites any PhD candidate to approach us with questions and concerns.
The Council’s chair is part of the Institute’s Advisory Board, and the council organizes events with PhD councils from other institutes, such as the Humanities PhD Symposium. It keeps in contact with PhDoc, which represents PhDs and Postdocs in the University Council.
