This research cluster centres on regional, national, and global intersections between a variety of artistic and cultural expressions and their role in society from 1800 onwards.
Engaging with artefacts (artistic, literary, cinematic, multi-media) and practices (aesthetic, political, cultural, social), it is committed to their interdisciplinary study both through the histories they carry and their functions and affordances in the present.
