Sebastian Diessner is universitair docent bij het Instituut Bestuurskunde van de Universiteit Leiden. Zijn onderzoek richt zich op de politiek van het economisch beleid en is gepubliceerd in wetenschappelijke tijdschriften, waaronder Perspectives on Politics, Socio-Economic Review, Review of International Political Economy en JCMS: Journal of Common Market Studies. Zijn huidige onderzoek wordt gefinancierd door een subsidie van de Leverhulme Trust en analyseert de relatie tussen technologische en institutionele veranderingen in democratieën.
