Gelijn Molier works since 1 September 2006 for the Institute for the Interdisciplinary Study of the Law at the department of Jurisprudence, first as an assistant professor and since 2013 as an associate professor.

More information about Gelijn Molier

Gelijn Molier studied Dutch law, specialization Public Law and further Public Administration from 1988-1994 at the faculty of Law of the State University of Groningen. From 1995-1999 he worked as a phd for the department of International Law at the law faculty of the State University of Groningen. During the period 2000-2006 he worked as an assistant professor for the department of Jurisprudence at the same university. In 2003 he received his doctors-degree on a dissertation on the (il)legality of humanitarian intervention. He gave courses on International law, Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence and Legal Skills. In September 2006 he changed from university and started to work as an assistant professor for the faculty of law of Leiden University at the department of Jurisprudence. In 2013 he was appointed by the faculty board as an associate professor.

He lectures currently the courses Foundations of the Law (BA1), Methods and Techniques of Legal Science (BA1), Legal Theory of International Public Law (Master),  and Law and Literature (BA3). His main fields of research pertains to human rights, in particular freedom of speech, international law and the use of force, in particular humanitarian interventions, international legal theory and philosophy of law.
