Institute for the Interdisciplinary Study of the Law
The legal subjects have a certain jurisdiction as subject to research, such as civil law, constitutional law, criminal law and public international law.
The Institute for the Interdisciplinary Study of the Law researches from an external perspective (for example philosophy, sociology etc.). This makes legal science an 'interdisciplinary' affair.
Simone van der Hof has been appointed Academic Director of the Institute for the Interdisciplinary Study of the Law as per January 1, 2020. Afshin Ellian is the Deputy Academic Director.
