The Leiden University Centre for International Relations (LUCIR) is a multi-disciplinary platform promoting research and education on international relations at Leiden University.
Leiden University has the largest concentration of scholarly expertise on international relations in The Netherlands and one of the largest in Europe. The work of these scholars is diverse in its thematic focus, disciplinary orientation, theoretical perspective and methodological approach; some of them bring the added perspective of first-hand experience in government, NGOs and international organisations. In addition, Leiden University’s faculties of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Humanities, Law, and Governance & Global Affairs offer a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in the field.
LUCIR supports scholarship on international relations at Leiden University and profiles this scholarship for audiences in The Netherlands and abroad. LUCIR also promotes intellectual exchange with international relations scholars across The Netherlands.
