Strategy FGGA 2026 and further: 'Knowledge that benefits Society'

With the strategy 'Knowledge that benefits Society', the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs (FGGA) sets out its course for the coming years from 2026 onwards. We outline who we are and where our focus lies, both in terms of content and implementation. FGGA provides high-quality interdisciplinary education and research in The Hague on pressing societal and governance issues. In doing so, we strengthen scientific knowledge, educate students and professionals, and contribute to society. Our profile focuses on contemporary issues, drawing on perspectives such as law, public administration and policy, conflict and security, diplomacy and intelligence, economics, digital security, and societal resilience.

Our strategy is structured around five ambitions for 2026 and beyond:

  1. Continue to prioritise education and research
  2. Invest in recognition and rewards
  3. Building an academic community that values collective contribution
  4. Deploying AI responsibly and selectively
  5. Offering continuity and strategic growth
