The strategy of the Faculty Governance and Global Affairs

Follow-up strategy plan 2026-2030

In this Followup Strategy, we as FGGA share who we are and where our focus will lie in 2026 and beyond - both in content and in execution. This focus enables us to continue what we already do well, set priorities where more is needed, and remain agile in responding to what society asks of us. We feel a strong responsibility as a knowledge institution in turbulent times.

Together with the institute boards and and the centre directors, supported by the heads of the faculty office, the faculty board chose six themes. The themes are:

• Consolidation strategy 2020-2025
• Recognition and reward / Academia in Motion
• Profiling areas Leiden University
• Strategic growth (including internationalization, Brussels strategy and funding ambitions)
• The campus as our working environment
• AI, as a cross-cutting theme
