As a start to this exciting week and years to come at LUC we want you all to get comfortable with each other in a fun way! Coming together as a group with people you don’t know can be a challenge. Therefore, icebreaker games with your mentors serve to let your group have a fun time, while also creating shared experiences that you can bond over!

Essential: icebreaking is teambuilding. Team-building with people that are becoming your neighbours, study partners, partners in crime, friends and family!

During the Walking Tour The Hague the mentor groups will walk past the important spots in The Hague that every LUC student should know. This will include shops in The Hague to know where best to help you decorate your room or buy essentials for settling in AvB. In a “scavenger hunt” style they will pass by useful places to get settled in The Hague. At the end, the mentees will get sent a document with a list of places that they visited during the tour including some fun extra places that were not specifically mentioned in the tour.

Tip: while you are in the city centre, use this opportunity to get the props you need for your Airband Battle performance.

The Community Kitchen would like to invite you to a Community Lunch on Floor 2. We will be serving a home cooked (vegan) meal. This is a unique experience that demonstrates the community experience at LUC. 

Your mentors will get you disposable plates and cutlery! Drinks will not be provided so please bring your own.

Due to the maximum capacity our kitchen can handle, we will split the groups.

• Mentor group 1 - 8 will go at 13:00
• Mentor group 9 - 17 will go at 13:45

Get ready for a cosy evening of snacks, laughter, and great company at the 2026 Intro Week Movie Night! Before the event, you'll receive a form where you can vote for the film you'd like to watch. Make sure to not miss it :) It’s a perfect opportunity to meet new people, relax, before the PJ party starts! Don't forget to wear your pyjamas! Can’t wait to see you all!

The PJ party will be taking place at none other than LUCs own student bar (some may even say the best bar in all of Den Haag?). It will be a fun and unforgettable night, that none of you should miss. Starting university can be nerve wracking and overwhelming at times. The PJ party is the perfect opportunity for you to throw on your favourite PJs and enjoy a night of mingling with your new cohort while dancing to amazing music. The PJ party is the ultimate low effort but memorable night to kick off your first semester.

Join an outdoor activity in the beautiful Haagse Bos. It’s all about teaming up, getting active, and discovering a whole new side of the group and the forest. 

There are other activities to join as well, so feel free to take part in whatever suits you best.

The perfect time to bond with you mentor group! Travel together to the beach for Beach Day and have lunch there to avoid crowded tram rides. 

Get on tram 9 direction "Scheveningen Noord" and get off at the last stop: "Zwarte Pad".

Only 15 minutes away from the towers and business of the city center, LUC’s iconic Beach Day is your chance to go with the flow and discover another side of The Hague. Bonding over thrilling activities, chilling under the sun and swimming in the sea… be ready to dive into an afternoon of fun and relaxation! Put your sunglasses on,Beach Day here we come!!

Get together with your mentor group to rehearse for the infamous Airband Battle.

This session will be split into a session for internationals and people with previous Dutch experience. 

During these parallel sessions you'll find out what is typically Dutch culture or you'll find out what it means to be a Dutch student in an international programme. 

1) Going Dutch | New to the Netherlands? Intimidated by its tall people and biking culture? Or perhaps (understandably) disturbed by our cuisine? Fear not! We will deliver a crash course to get you settled and cover all your bases so you’ll feel ready to take on life here. From the biggest culture shocks to must-visit locations, Dutch food, and a bit of useful language: we’ve got you covered!

2) Being Dutch | 

Curious what it’s like to be a Dutchie* at LUC? Whether you’re fresh out of a Dutch high school or returning from an international experience, this session is for you! Two seasoned Dutch students will share their experiences and give you a glimpse into student life, from weekend trips home to being the ‘designated Dutchie’. Come meet your new friends, it will be gezellig!

*The presentation does not require you to have Dutch citizenship. However, the presentation will be in Dutch and does focus on those who grew up in the Netherlands and/or the Dutch-speaking in LUC.

Get together with your mentor group to rehearse for prepare for the spotlight later this evening! 

Did you complete the most challenges during the walking tour or did your group receive the most points during Beach Day? Then you might be called forward to receive your well-deserved price!

The Airband Battle is a contest where everyone gets an opportunity to unleash their inner star! Every mentor group will showcase their dancing and lip-syncing skills to different beats in some fun costumes. Meet us on the final day of Intro Week at 19:30 in the Auditorium and get ready to shine!

End Intro Week with a bang! We will join HOPweek to mingle with all other students in The Hague for one big final themed party. There are limited spots for LUC students and wrist bands are mandatory! Minors are allowed to attend.
