Richelle is promovendus aan de Universiteit Leiden. Haar onderzoek richt zich voornamelijk op directe waarnemingen van exoplaneten. Andere onderzoeksinteresses zijn diepe transits veroorzaakt door stofrijke structuren, zoals grote ringsystemen en puinwolken ontstaan bij botsingen tussen exoplaneten.
