Josette Daemen is universitair docent aan het Instituut Bestuurskunde in Den Haag.
Josette Daemen is politicoloog en politiek filosoof, opgeleid aan de universiteiten van Leiden en Oxford. Ze werkt als universitair docent bij het Instituut Bestuurskunde. Haar onderzoek en onderwijs richten zich met name op waarden(conflict) in politiek, bestuur en beleid.
Bij het Instituut Politieke Wetenschap promoveerde ze op een proefschrift over de waarde van zekerheid/security in de context van de liberaal-democratische samenleving. Aan het Instituut Bestuurskunde leidde ze als postdoc het project Fair Educational Assessment in the Age of AI (FAIR-ASSESS).
Om inzichten uit de politieke filosofie, politicologie en bestuurskunde toegankelijk te maken voor een breder publiek draagt ze regelmatig bij aan het Nederlandse publieke debat. Ze schrijft columns voor NRC.
