Errol Boon promoveert aan de Universiteit Leiden (Centre for Continental Philosophy) en de Freie Universität Berlin (Institut für Philosophie). Zijn onderzoek gaat uit naar antieke Griekse en moderne Duitse filosofie, in het bijzonder vragen op het snijvlak van theoretische filosofie en esthetica. Zijn dissertatie handelt over noties van 'waarheid' in de kunsten.
