Complex Networks
From financial crises and virus outbreaks to polarisation on social media: our world is highly interconnected. How can we make sense of the complex interactions within such networks?
Network science reveals patterns and universal properties in complex systems. Using this analytical method, we investigate how systems behave, where risks arise and how disruptions spread. This makes it a valuable tool for various disciplines and applications.
The networks we study are complex in terms of their scale or interactions and sometimes lack information. Network research helps fill those gaps and translates complexity into clear insights. In this way, our research contributes to solutions for societal issues such as financial instability, online disinformation and public health.
