Leiden Leadership Programme
Skills Labs
Throughout the programme, you will take part in several skills trainings. These form part of the Leadership Labs and the Electives you have chosen. On this page, you can read more about the various trainings.
Our skills trainings link academic insights to everyday practice. Through a combination of theory, interactive teaching methods and exercises, you will develop skills that you can put to immediate use during your studies and in your work.
Lab Skills
In the Lab skills trainings, you will work under the guidance of experienced coaches and professionals on essential skills, such as effective communication, giving and receiving feedback, and project management. The interactive format offers plenty of opportunity to practise, reflect and apply what you have learnt straight away and during your Leadership Lab Challenge.
During the three trainings, you will explore themes such as ‘Understanding others’, in which you will learn to recognise different perspectives; ‘Aligning the interpersonal process’, focused on stronger collaboration and mutual alignment; and ‘Delivering projects with impact’, in which you will learn to successfully complete projects with a lasting impact.
Elective Skills
These training sessions relate to the content of the various Electives and offer an in-depth exploration of themes relevant to your learning trajectory. In interactive and practical sessions, led by experienced trainers, you will develop skills and insights relating to topics such as change and adaptability, public leadership in a crisis situation, intercultural communication and seeing things from other perspectives. These sessions will enhance your professional and personal development and learn to apply the knowledge you have gained directly in practice.
