Manon Marguerit defended her PhD thesis in urban planning and geography in February 2026 on sexual and sexist violence on public transport. This research was conducted at the Ville Mobilité Transport laboratory in Gustave Eiffel University as part of a CIFRE agreement with the RATP, this work is based on an analysis of the ‘plan to prevent and combat sexual and gender-based violence’ implemented by the company since March 2020. More broadly, it examines the legitimacy and role of a transport operator in tackling a systemic problem.

Her research adopts a feminist and phenomenological perspective, focusing on gender relations, bodies in motion and everyday gestures. In her work, she makes ethnographic documentary films in collaboration with other filmmakers as part of a research-creation approach. In 2022, she co-directed the documentary film Visibles, which explores the violence experienced by lesbian couples during their journeys.

Currently she is an associate researcher at the Ville Mobilité Transport laboratory and a post-doctoral researcher at the SPLOTT laboratory in Gustave Eiffel University in Paris. She is co-directed an other documentary film about boatmen and delivery drivers working for a company specializing in inland waterway freight transport.
