Physics and High-Tech Innovation
Programme structure
This specialisation combines advanced training in physics at a world-class institute with interdisciplinary courses on high-tech instrumentation and design and an industrial placement, preparing you for a career in which you develop and apply sophisticated physics techniques to innovations in industry.
Programme outline
The Physics and High-Tech Innovation specialisation consists of a physics component (roughly the first year) where you will follow courses and conduct a research project within the Leiden Institute of Physics Research, and a High-Tech Innovation component (roughly the second year) where you will take courses in physics, chemistry, astronomy or computer science and undertake a placement at a company or research institute, leading to your master’s thesis.
The Physics master's programme offers you a lot of options to create your own programme. There is also the possibility to follow an internship abroad at another university or in a company or to follow courses at another university in the Netherlands or abroad.
