International Leiden Leadership Programme

The International Leiden Leadership Programme (ILLP) is an honours programme (worth 5 EC) for master’s students at Leiden University and Delft University of Technology. The ILLP takes place from January through June. Through in-depth training sessions, assessments and seminars, the ILLP will allow you to gain insights into your own personal leadership style and will help you reach your leadership goals. In the programme you will:

  • develop your leadership skills
  • gain insight into your strengths and weaknesses
  • be involved in an interdisciplinary environment with other international students
Leiden Leadership programme
The Leiden Leadership Programme (LLP) is an extracurricular Dutch-taught honours programme for talented master’s students. The LLP is worth 20 EC and covers the full academic year. Teaching in the LLP is done in small groups and students can work on their development as a leader. The programme focuses on assessments, skills training sessions, practical assignments and seminars.
Master Honours classes
At Leiden University, students with enquiring minds have the opportunity to take on an extra academic challenge alongside their regular studies. Graduate students can choose between various interdisciplinary Master Honours Classes.

Moot Court Competitions

Leiden Students can apply to participate in the B.M. Telders International Law Moot Court competition, which is organised by the Faculty of Law and its students. Leiden students can also participate in the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, International Criminal Court Trial Competition, Kalshoven International Humanitarian Law Competition and the International Humanitarian Law Clinic.

High-profile internships

If you want to further develop your professional skills, you can benefit from the LL.M. Internship Recommendation Programme. While the Programme cannot guarantee an internship, it has a good track record.  This is an internal competitive process with the aim of selecting the best candidates who will be institutionally endorsed in their internship applications to selected international institutions and organizations that practice international law.
