Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology (BSc)
Do you want to know more about Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology and what it is like to study in Leiden? Come to our information events.
Online information activities
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, we have had to cancel our on-campus information activities. We are still here to help you with all your questions and provide you with the information you need. To do so we have set up alternative online information activities like the Online Experience.
You can join us in an Online Experience and follow lectures on the four key themes of our programme: Sustainability, Diversity, Digitalisation and Methodology. The mini-lectures and assignments are similar to what you can expect of the actual courses and lectures. In addition to the online lectures we offer you information about what it's like to study at our institute, about the student city Leiden and about the career choices of 5 of our alumni. This Online Experience will help you answering questions such as: does this bachelor's programme suit me? Does the programme meet my interests and capabilities?
At the Open Day you can explore all the courses taught at the university. Get your bearings at the information fair, go to the programme presentations and experience the city where you will be studying. It is a great event to orient yourself, compare between different programmes and learn more about what Leiden University has to offer.

You attend lectures in the department with other prospective students. Together with an instructor, you will review and discuss tasks that you have worked on beforehand. You will find out more about the content of the programme in an active way. You will also have the chance to talk to current students and faculty about the programme, and have your questions answered.
Check the calendar to see when the next Experience Days take place.
Shadow a student with a small group of prospective students and decide if the programme is right for you. You will sit in real lectures and get a feel for the atmosphere at the university. You will receive insight from current students on what it’s like to study in the programme and get a real taste of what to expect.
