Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology (BSc)
Matching module
As we believe it is important that you choose a study programme that fits you well, the matching process is a mandatory part of your admission.
Via this online matching module you will familiarise yourself with the course materials and the methodology that are typical for this programme.
- Once you have completed the matching module, you will receive feedback about how well this programme matches your interests and capabilities.
- If you find that the course isn’t right for you after all, you’ll still have time to look into other study options. So don’t leave the matching process until the last minute.
- The matching process is non-binding: you decide for yourself whether to enroll in the programme, and your results on the assignments won’t affect your chances of admission.
You will receive your feedback by email within 24 hours. Would you like to discuss the results further? If so, please contact your study advisor, Caro Aalderink.
What can I expect?
- The module consists of online lectures on four subjects: sustainability, diversity, digitalisation and methodology.
- After you have watched the online lectures, you will be asked to read two articles and complete the corresponding assignments and matching questions.
- In addition to the online lectures, we have also added chapters about what it's like to study at our institute, the student city of Leiden and the career choices of five of our alumni.
How do you apply for matching?
You do not need to register separately for the matching process. Once you have submitted your application via Studielink, you will receive an email within 10 working days containing your login details for our online matching module.
Please note: the matching module will only be available as of 5 January and must be completed by 1 September.
Are you having trouble logging in to matching?
Please contact cadsmatching@fsw.leidenuniv.nl. Describe the problem you are experiencing as accurately as possible and, if possible, include a screenshot of the error message.
Withdrawing from compulsory matching
Have you applied for a programme, but decided you no longer wish to enrol? Please withdraw your application. If you do not withdraw your application before the deadline, your application (and participation) in the compulsory matching process will remain active.
I have not received an email
It may take about 10 days for your registration to be processed. Did you register more than 10 days ago? If so, please check the spam folder in your email inbox to see if the email has ended up there. If not, please contact cadsmatching@fsw.leidenuniv.nl.
According to the administration system, the matching process has not yet been completed
It may take up to 10 working days for everything to be processed correctly. If it has been longer than this period since you completed the matching process, please contact us at cadsmatching@fsw.leidenuniv.nl.
When is the deadline for completing the matching process?
The module must be completed as soon as possible and no later than 1 September this year.
Please note: this is done next to the admission procedure. We can only finalise your enrolment once you have completed the matching process and have been unconditionally admitted to the programme.
Based on your own experiences and the feedback from the course, you’ll be able to make a well-informed and final decision about your course of study after the matching process. Good luck and have fun!
