Job shadowing
Experience a different university, and a different perspective, through the Live My Life programme.
Every year (usually in May), non-academic staff can apply to join this unique job shadowing programme. If accepted, you'll be matched with a colleague at another Una Europa university. Together you will:
- Attend online sessions. Get to know each other and develop your ability to work in multicultural and international teams.
- Visit each other's university for up to one week.
- Learn from each other. Experience a different culture and ways of working, and build your international network.
Live My Life is your chance to step into someone else’s professional world, and bring fresh insights back to your own.

What a journey!

'From Leiden to Helsinki and back, I explored not only a new city but also new perspectives on our profession together with my HR match. We shared challenges, learned from each other's successes, and got a unique glimpse into each other’s work cultures. An experience that has enriched me both professionally and personally. Kiitos & thank you, Una Europa!'

Just go for it!

'This is a wonderful way to exchange best practices and cultural knowledge and of course to get to know new people. I think that everyone could benefit from this Una Europa exchange, not just professionally, but also personally. It’s a very valuable experience.'

Una Europa isn’t just an idea on paper but something that really lives.

'While in Berlin, I spoke with the person who supports their chemistry researchers with grant applications. We talked about possible collaborations between the chemists in Leiden and Berlin. Nothing’s set in stone, but I think it’s great that I got to meet her. I’m even more enthusiastic about Una Europa now and would really like to get our researchers involved. Thanks to this exchange, I feel we are better equipped to make that happen.'
