Steven Denney is een vergelijkend politicoloog met een scherpe focus op Oost-Azië en in het bijzonder de twee Korea’s. Hij duidt complexe thema’s als migratie en bestuur, nationalisme en de rol van internationale organisaties in een snel veranderende regio. Met behulp van grootschalige enquêtes en innovatieve experimenten brengt hij in kaart wat burgers écht denken en waarom. Daarnaast combineert hij administratieve data met kwalitatieve analyses, waardoor hij maatschappelijke en politieke ontwikkelingen niet alleen kan meten, maar ook kan verklaren.
