Ik richt me op de grootschalige representatieve en legitimerende kunstwerken en monumenten die aan het eind van de negentiende en begin twintigste eeuw voornamelijk in Duitsland maar ook verder in Europa, en in de VS, ontstonden. Mijn proefschrift (2025) behandelt de standbeelden die keizer Wilhelm II van Duitsland door heel Europa plaatste. Ik analyseer ze vanuit kunsthistorisch, nationaal-historisch, psychoanalytisch en continentaal-filosofisch perspectief.
