Mert is in februari 2023 begonnen als promovendus onder begeleiding van Suzan Verberne en Frederik Situmeang (HvA). Zijn onderzoek richt zich op het creëren van conversational agents die aanpasbaar zijn aan consumentenpsychologie in low-resource domeinen. Mert heeft een BSc in Computer Engineering en MSc in Computer Vision.
