Sinds november 2017 is Georgios Stathis als onderzoeker werkzaam bij eLaw - het Centrum voor Recht en Digitale Technologie. Daarnaast is Georgios promovendus bij eLaw in samenwerking met het Leiden Centre of Data Science (LCDS).
Georgios Stathis studied Global Law (LL.B.) at Tilburg University (2016) and International and European Trade and Investment Law (LL.M.) at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) (2017).
During his Bachelor he completed an exchange program at Fundação Getulio Vargas, in São Paulo, participated in the Summer School on Law and Logic with European University Institute and Harvard Law School and won a competition on innovative ideas organized by HiiL Innovating Justice. During his Master he was the Chairman of the Amsterdam Student Association of International Law and member of the UvA team at the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court.
At the moment he is part of a twenty-member team at Stockholm Treaty Lab, a competition for the promotion of green investments, and a Ph.D. Candidate on Computational Law and Data Science and Research Assistant at the Introduction of the Data Protection Reform to the Judicial System (INFORM) project of eLaw at Leiden University. Since his Bachelor he completed internships in Law Firms in Greece, the United Kingdom, Brazil and the Netherlands. He speaks English and Greek fluently and understands Italian, French and Portuguese.
