Anouk de Koning is universitair hoofddocent bij de afdeling Culturele Antropologie en Ontwikkelingssociologie, waar ze mede leiding geeft aan het interfacultaire onderzoeksprogramma Sociaal Burgerschap en Migratie. Ze leidt momenteel twee grote onderzoeksprojecten (2022-2027), Prototyping Welfare in Europe: Experiments in State and Society (gefinancierd met een Vici-subsidie) en Social Work and the Art of Crafting Resilient Societies (gefinancierd met een NWA-subsidie). Deze projecten onderzoeken de nieuwe sociaal-politieke werelden die ontstaan in welzijnsexperimenten in Europa.
