More information about Stijn Voskamp

Voskamp (1989) studied law at Leiden University (2007 – 2011). After finishing her Master in Civil Law she started working as a junior lecturer in civil law at the Institute for Private Law, Leiden University. As of 2012, she has worked at this institute as a PhD candidate researching education law and civil law. Voskamp defended her PhD thesis on the educational agreement and obtained her PhD degree in 2018. In her dissertation, Voskamp researches the educational relationship between pupils, parents and schools from a contractual point of view. Several contractual doctrines are applied to this legal educational relationship (for example the formation, the determination of the content, and the ending of a contract) while taking in consideration the public law regulation in educational laws. Topics at the interface of education law and civil law play a role in Voskamp’s current position as Assistant Professor.

Voskamp teaches various courses in private law on the Bachelor Law program and Civil Law Master program. Furthermore she supervises bachelor and master theses.
