Sara obtained her master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Psychology from Leiden University August 2016, where she completed a clinical internship and wrote her thesis on a pilot study on the effects of social anxiety on eye gaze behaviour. Following graduation, she worked as a child psychologist at a private practice in The Hague, specialized in supporting expatriate families. In June 2017, she started her PhD to research interventions for children and adolescents with social anxiety supervised by Prof. dr. P. Michiel Westenberg, Dr. Esther van den Bos, and Dr. Anne C. Miers.
