Federica Casano is a PhD candidate in European and International Tax Law at the Tax Law Department.
In 2019, Federica graduated (cum laude) from the LL.M. program in law at the University of Bologna (Italy). In the same year, she graduated (cum laude) from the LL.M. program in international and European corporate tax law at Tilburg University (the Netherlands). She worked as a researcher and coordinator assistant at Tilburg University till January 2020.
Federica is currently conducting a traineeship at the European Commission, where she works on tax evasion, beneficial ownership concept, and (non-EU) countries listing processes for the purposes of anti-money laundering and countering terrorism.
Federica’s PhD investigates the effectiveness of the EU Tax Haven Blacklist, formally labelled the ‘EU list of non-cooperative jurisdictions for tax purposes’. Federica's PhD research is part of the Tax Transparency project.
