Eduard Pop is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Archaeology.
Research
I am a postdoctoral fellow at Naturalis and a guest employee at the Faculty of Archaeology, Leiden, the Netherlands, working on the Trinil project. This involves renewed excavations of the type site of H. erectus, Trinil, Indonesia, and further archaeological, palaeoanthropological, and taphonomical studies of the material excavated by Dubois and Selenka between 1891 and 1907. My research interests include geoarchaeology, taphonomy, palaeoenvironmental reconstruction, early fire use, Middle Palaeolithic lithic technology, ballistic archaeology, digital archaeology, and 3d visualisation and analysis.
