Luca Bruls is an anthropologist conducting research in the Sahel. She has carried out fieldwork in Chad, Senegal, and Mali. Her work focuses on Islam and gender, with particular attention to Sufi Muslim networks among women and the Fulani. She is engaged with topics such as telephony, social media use, and digitalization in the region. She also addresses issues related to violence, insecurity, and instability in these areas, and how these affect everyday life (especially in Chad).
