Olaf van Vliet in Intermediair on which jobs are threatened by migration, climate transition and digitalisation

Due to technological change, jobs and professions are constantly changing. For instance, it has long been known that some jobs are becoming redundant due to automation. Digitalisation and the rise of artificial intelligence are more recent developments that affect the labour market.

It is therefore interesting to ask what the impact of chatbots like ChatGPT will be on the job market. Professor of economics Olaf van Vliet discusses these developments on Dutch website Intermediair. He says that technological developments not only lead to threats, but also to opportunities on the labour market. Besides technological change, migration and climate transition are also important developments that affect the labour market. Van Vliet conducts research on the labour market effects of these developments.
