Intellectual Property Law
The department carries out research in all fields of IP law. The research is a part of the faculty research programme Coherent Private Law.
Prof. Visser mainly conducts research in the fields of copyright law and trademark law and related areas of law (neighbouring rights, database law, portrait law, design law, trade names law and slavish imitation / passing off). He focuses on the development of key principles in copyright law, trademark law and design right law in the light of the jurisprudence of the EU Court of Justice.
Dr. Van Woensel conducts research on ethical dilemmas with respect to IP law and on corporate social responsibility.
Ms. Vrendenbarg’s research focuses on the award of the actual legal costs in IP cases.
Beside his work as a lecturer, Mr. Dack works as a barrister in patent-related infringement disputes.
