The Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs, together with the consultancy Highberg and Red Plume, is organising a symposium on digital autonomy. Digital autonomy is crucial for the Dutch government to maintain control over its digital infrastructure and data. Currently, there is considerable dependence on foreign technology companies, especially 'hyperscalers' such as Microsoft, Amazon and Google. The symposium's central question is what the Netherlands can do to strengthen its own digital autonomy. In doing so, two perspectives will be highlighted: European and national. There will be several speakers and panel discussions. On behalf of FGGA, Tommy van Steen (ISGA) will participate in this free, Dutch spoken symposium.
