The analysis of Dutch politics is central to this Master's specialisation. You will take a number of general political science courses that will familiarise you with the most important and current insights from political science and teach you the necessary skills to further deepen your knowledge within the specialisation. The core course of this specialisation is Dutch political institutions (taught in Dutch). In this course, you will examine how the most important political institutions in The Hague actually work and how Dutch democracy can be strengthened.
In addition, you will choose from thematic seminars, where you can compare Dutch politics with other countries on specific points, such as the role of parties and interest groups. Under certain conditions, an internship is also a possibility. You will complete your master's degree with a thesis, which you will write as part of the Dutch Politics seminar.
