Master's application and admission

Find out how to apply for BioTherapeutics at Leiden University by following our step-by-step guide.

Step-by-step guide

This guide clearly explains the steps you need to take to apply, and the subsequent admission process.

The research specialisations are considered to be default specialisations. Hence, students will only be admitted to the master on a research specialisation. Students following the research specialisations continue their research training in the second year. Students opting for a non-research specialisation will be admitted after the successful completion of their first year of the master programme.

Every master student of Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences has to start with a Research Project of 9 months within the LACDR (our research institute).
BFW students who want to start the master BPS in the academic year 2020-2021, please enroll in studielink and fill out this RP1 registration form before November 15, 2020. Based on the information you provide, the education office of the master BPS will match you with a suitable RP1 spot. This is also applicable to students who have completed the bachelor in past years.
On the website of the LACDR you can find information on the various research programmes that are offered by our research divisions. Research specialisations are associated with the research themes of the different divisions.
